The Islamic religion, as outlined in the Qur’an, requires its followers to engage in the reading, learning, study, and advancement of their country and society. Following this divine mandate, the Imams\/Ulema, who are regarded as the successors of the prophets, have devoted their lives to this pursuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the most esteemed and influential figures in the region, the great Imam from Mitrovica, Mullah Asllan eff. Murat served his people religiously and nationally for over half a century. This pious, patriotic and intellectual imam exerted a profound influence on the congregation, promoting the values of faith, education, and patriotism. In particular, his contribution during the reconciliation of blood feuds in Kosovo, the preservation of the remains of the hero Isa Boletini, and his service during the Kosovo War.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is thus incumbent upon us to pursue research and illumination of the activity and contribution of such Albanian figures, by our most profound patriotic and academic obligations in the present era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mulla Asllan Murati represents an exemplar of the nexus of reading, writing, and study. Notably, he is the first individual in the Albanian linguistic tradition to translate the renowned text Sahih Muslim, which comprises hadiths or sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
