Ky punim trajton trashëgiminë kulturore-historike dhe islame të qytetit të Ulqinit, duke nisur nga periudha antike e deri në shekullin XX. Në kapitullin e parë shqyrtohet zhvillimi historik i Ulqinit, duke përfshirë burimet e shkruara për emrin e qytetit, periudhat e ndryshme historike dhe vendosjen e elementeve të para të trashëgimisë islame deri në shekullin XIX. Kapitulli i dytë fokusohet në objektet e kultit islam si xhamitë, mektebet, teqet, tyrbet dhe Sahat Kulla, duke përshkruar gjendjen e tyre aktuale dhe ato që janë zhdukur me kalimin e kohës. Në kapitullin e tretë vihen në pah figurat kyçe të ulemave nga Ulqini dhe rrethina, duke theksuar rolin e tyre në arsimimin dhe edukimin fetar islam, si dhe kontributin që kanë dhënë jashtë kufijve të vendlindjes së tyre. Punimi synon të ruajë kujtesën kolektive dhe të nxisë vlerësimin e trashëgimisë kulturore dhe shpirtërore të Ulqinit si një pasuri e rëndësishme e identitetit lokal dhe kombëtar.

This paper explores the cultural-historical and Islamic heritage of the city of Ulcinj, beginning from antiquity up to the 20th century. The first chapter examines Ulcinj’s historical development, including written sources about the city’s name, various historical periods, and the early foundations of Islamic heritage until the 19th century. The second chapter focuses on Islamic religious sites such as mosques, mektebs, tekkes, türbes, and the Clock Tower (Sahat Kulla), providing a description of those that still exist today as well as those that have been lost over time. The third chapter highlights key personalities of the local Islamic scholarly community (ulema), emphasizing their role in Islamic religious education and the contributions they made both locally and beyond the region. This study aims to preserve collective memory and promote appreciation for the cultural and spiritual legacy of Ulcinj as an essential part of both local and national identity.
