Tema e këtij masteri shqyrton kontributin e hoxhallarëve në Maqedoninë e Veriut, si dhe pasojat e burgosjes së tyre gjatë periudhave të ndryshme historike, sidomos nën regjimet totalitare dhe gjatë periudhave të tensioneve politike. Hoxhallarët kanë luajtur një rol të rëndësishëm në ruajtjen dhe zhvillimin e traditave fetare, kulturore dhe edukative në këtë rajon, si dhe në forcimin e bashkëjetesës multikulturore. Ky studim analizon periudhat e ndryshme të ndjekjeve dhe arrestimeve të hoxhallarëve, duke shqyrtuar faktorët që kanë ndikuar në këto ngjarje, si dhe ndikimin e burgosjes së tyre në komunitetet myslimane dhe shoqërinë më të gjerë të Maqedonisë së Veriut. Pjesë e rëndësishme e këtij hulumtimi është analiza e marrëdhënieve ndërfetare dhe politike, si dhe vlerësimi i rolit të hoxhallarëve si udhëheqës shpirtërorë dhe intelektualë. Në përfundim, ky punim synon të kontribuojë në kuptimin e kontekstit historik dhe shoqëror të Maqedonisë së Veriut, duke nxjerrë në pah rolin e hoxhallarëve dhe pasojat e sistemit të ndjekjes/ dhe represionit që ata kanë përjetuar.

This master’s thesis examines the contribution of imams in North Macedonia, as well as the consequences of their imprisonment during various historical periods, especially under totalitarian regimes and during times of political tensions. Imams have played a significant role in preserving and developing religious, cultural, and educational traditions in this region, as well as strengthening intercommunal coexistence. This study analyzes the different periods of persecution and arrest of imams, exploring the factors that influenced these events, as well as the impact of their imprisonment on Muslim communities and the broader society of North Macedonia. A key part of this research is the analysis of interfaith and political relations, as well as the evaluation of the role of imams as spiritual and intellectual leaders. In conclusion, this thesis aims to contribute to the understanding of the historical and social context of North Macedonia, highlighting the role of imams and the consequences of the surveillance and repression they endured.
